Summary
When you go through synchronization in BioStar 2 → Settings → Active Directory → Synchronize → Sync Now
Synchronization in the active directory affects the user's Login ID when [Use for BioStar 2 Login] is inactive in BioStar 2 → Settings → Active Directory → Active Directory Server.
Cause
Suppose the user information as in Login ID and password are not identical with the active directory data. In that case, it automatically overwrites user information based on data saved in the active directory.
Relevant Issue Description
- BioStar 2 → Settings → Active Directory → Apply Settings
Important Note : Use for BioStar 2 Login set to Inactive - BioStar 2 → Settings → Active Directory → Synchronize → Sync Now
- BioStar 2 → User → Select one of the synchronized user
- BioStar 2 → User → Select one of the synchronized user → Edit User Information → Apply
- Login ID & Password
- BioStar 2 → Settings → Active Directory → Synchronize → Sync Now
- BioStar 2 → User → Select the edited user from #4
- Edited Login ID & Password got overwrite with data based on Active Directory
- Edited Login ID & Password got overwrite with data based on Active Directory
Workaround
If you have already set Login ID of each users and plan to not use BioStar 2 Login and now with this known issue have to manually edit each user information.
Please follow the below guidelines
Step 1. Stop BioStar 2 services
BioStar Ver 2.8.16_AD Synchronization loginID_bug_fixed_patch
Step 5. Start BioStar 2 services
