Starting from BioStar 2 v2.9.11 and BioStar X v1.0.0, the Master Admin and 2 Step Authentication features are supported.

⚠️ Important:
These features are directly related to firmware downgrade restrictions. Once enabled, firmware downgrade may no longer be available.
Please carefully review this limitation before upgrading the firmware on existing devices or purchasing new devices with the latest firmware pre-installed.

Mandatory Requirements and Precautions

If you purchased new devices with the latest firmware that support Master Admin feature, you MUST thoroughly review the document linked above in advance.

⚠️ Critical for Newly Purchased Devices:
For devices shipped with the latest firmware, Master Admin MUST be configured on the device before the initial installation and deployment to access the device menu. Failure to do so may result in restricted administrative access.

⚠️ Administrator Authentication Policy (Mandatory):
You must notice one additional policy on the devices shipped with the latest firmware. Not only for the Master Administrators, but also for ALL device administrator accounts (All / User / Config) are required to use 2 Step Authentication as designed.

• Each administrator MUST register and use at least two different credential types (e.g., Card and PIN).

• Single-factor authentication for administrator accounts is NOT supported under this security model.

* Devices not listed in the table will be updated each firmware release.
