Overview


BioStar 2 supports integration with Microsoft Entra ID.
This enables SSO login and automatic sync of Entra ID users and groups into BioStar 2.

⚠️ Important Notes

1. Existing Groups Are Deleted

  • All existing BioStar 2 user groups are permanently deleted when sync runs.
  • Deleted groups cannot be restored.
  • Before running sync, verify that all required groups are selected in the filter.

2. Primary Group Is Auto-Assigned

  • If a user belongs to multiple Entra ID groups, only the first group is assigned as the primary group.
  • Sort order: Creation date → Display name

3. BioStar 2 Registration Condition

  • Only users whose primary group matches the BioStar 2 mapping group are registered in BioStar 2.
  • Users with no match are excluded from sync.
