CLUe currently supports the following devices:
BioStation 3, BioEntry W3, BioLite N2, XStation 2, XPass 2
Typically, CLUe required both the CLUe firmware and certificates to be updated in a specific order. However, following this sequence or performing multiple updates during the process was not convenient when updating a large number of devices.
Now, the latest CLUe firmware can automatically perform updates that include certificates by itself. In other words, with a single firmware update, you can switch from the existing BioStar-supported mode to CLUe-supported mode.
How to Change.
Prepare the firmware version that supports CLUe.
This can be obtained through your local Suprema branch or the CLUe team. The applicable versions are as follows.xpass2_v1_4_2_20250705_000000CL-AU.bin

*W3 fw will be ready shortly. Before updating the firmware, ensure that the device can connect to the internet and the CLUe server.
After the CLUe firmware update, the device will automatically retrieve and apply the certificate from the CLUe server and then attempt to connect, so an internet connection is essential.
Note that after the CLUe firmware update, the device will, by default, obtain an IP address via DHCP, so please check that dynamic IP assignment is available.During the update process, the device will reboot at least two to three times.
The main firmware update may take some time, while retrieving certificates and configuration firmware will take less time. Typically, the process takes about 3 to 5 minutes, so please keep the device powered and connected until the update is complete.Once all updates are complete, the device will display the CLUe icon on the main screen.
For devices without a display, you can check the device’s registration status by entering the serial number on the CLUe portal. After this, you can register the device through the portal, assign it to the designated space, and use it together with your door configurations.
Please ensure that no user information remains on the device before performing the firmware update. If user data remains, it may conflict with user information synchronized from the CLUe system.
Additionally, firmware updates can be performed via BioStar 2 or using a USB.
