In BioStar 1 there were two ways you could configure the RFID devices (Wiegand Readers) that were connected to a Suprema device.
Legacy: RF Reader will be treated as part of the host device. This means you can use RFID card read + biometric authentication on Suprema device for authentication.
Extended: RF Reader will be treated as independent device. The extended mode assigns RF reader a separate ID which allows them to be associated with doors, included in zones, and leave logs. This means you cannot use RFID card read + biometric authentication on Suprema device. The authentication match of the user is done immediately on card read on the RFID device.
Up to BioStar 2.5 only extended mode is supported. This means you cannot use RFID card read + biometric authentication on Suprema device to authenticate a user.
Legacy mode is included in BioStar 2.6 and above.
